Obtaining Affiliate status is the first step toward joining EAED and experiencing the unique spirit of its community.
Your Commitment
Becoming an EAED Affiliate is a formal and recognized way to be part of the Academy without applying for full Membership.
It is conceived for dentists and dental technicians who want to maintain a stable connection with the EAED, participate in its scientific life, and share its values and professional standards, without necessarily pursuing Active Membership.
Affiliate status reflects long-term interest, consistency, and alignment with the Academy’s scientific, ethical, and attitudinal principles. Remaining an Affiliate is a legitimate and respected choice within the EAED.
Why become an Affiliate
As an EAED Affiliate, you can:
- Attend EAED Spring Meetings with preferential conditions
- Have access to educational online initiatives limited to Affiliates and Members
- Maintain long-term contact with an international scientific community
- Network with Members and invited Speakers
- Experience the culture, atmosphere, and standards of the Academy
- Decide freely whether or not to pursue Membership in the future
Affiliate status allows flexibility while providing formal recognition by the EAED.
Affiliate status is not a membership and does not imply voting rights or governance roles.
Apply for Affiliate Status
To apply for EAED Affiliate Status, a candidate must:
- Have attended at least two EAED Spring Meetings as a Guest
- Be supported by three EAED sponsors who are Active Members or Life Members, with at least one sponsor from a different country (click here to download the Sponsor Form)
- Collect the signatures of your 3 sponsors. One application form for each sponsor
- Submit a formal application within the established deadline within the established deadline March 15th, 2026.
After submission, applications are reviewed based on participation, sponsorship, professional profile, and personal attitude and alignment with EAED values.
Admission requires a formal vote by the General Assembly and is approved only after 75% positive votes.
Once admitted:
- Affiliate status is maintained through payment of annual dues
- Affiliates are not required to attend meetings every year
- There is no obligation to apply for Membership
Affiliate status is independent from Membership and does not automatically lead to Active Membership. It is a mandatory prerequisite only for those who later choose to apply for Membership.
