Our online activities offer a valuable opportunity for Academy professionals to stay up to date with the latest scientific developments and explore the research carried out by their peers.

Treatment Planning Webinar

Dr. Francesco Mintrone

The webinar will be structured around the presentation of a clinical case. The first 15 minutes will be dedicated to the presentation of the case up to the diagnostic phase.

This will be followed by approximately 15 minutes of questions and answers focused on the diagnosis and the description of the case. During this interactive discussion, participants will also have the opportunity to suggest and discuss possible treatment plans.

Afterwards, around 15 minutes will be dedicated to the presentation of how the treatment was actually carried out.

The final 15 minutes will be reserved for further questions, answers, comments, and interactive discussion.

The total duration of the evening will therefore be approximately one hour:

  • 15 minutes for the case presentation up to diagnosis
  • 15 minutes for discussion and proposed treatment planning
  • 15 minutes for the presentation of the executed treatment
  • 15 minutes for final questions, answers, and comments

Dr. Francesco Mintrone CV

He began his career as a dental technician, developing a deep passion for precision and aesthetics,
which led him to specialize as a ceramist in fixed prosthesis. After graduating with honors in
Dentistry from the University of Modena, Italy, he pursued extensive training in prosthetic dentistry,
implant surgery, and periodontology, refining his expertise in comprehensive dental rehabilitation.
An active member of the EAED, he has consistently pushed the boundaries of modern dentistry. His
dedication and clinical expertise earned him the Master Clinician in Implant Dentistry award at
gIDE in both 2011 and 2012. Today, he serves as a Faculty member at gIDE, sharing his knowledge
and mentoring dental professionals through the international Implant Master Program.
He has authored numerous articles in leading international scientific journals and is a sought-after
speaker on digital dentistry, implants, and prosthodontics. For many years, he has traveled the world
as a global speaker, inspiring and educating professionals in the field of prosthetic and implant
dentistry.
In 2025, he further expanded his expertise by earning an Executive Education certificate from
Harvard University (AI in Health Care: From Strategies to Implementation), solidifying his
commitment to advancing the profession.
His clinical practice in Modena, Italy, is dedicated to delivering excellence in aesthetics and
prosthetic rehabilitation on both implants and natural dentition. With a relentless passion for
innovation and education.

From Direct to 3D-Printed Restoration Workflows – Clinical Insights

A clinical reflection on the journey from manual sculpting with composite resin to the integration of 3D printing in direct restorations. More than answers, this presentation brings questions and some experiences that may open new paths.

Dr. João Vinha Oliveira graduated in Dentistry from IUCS, Porto, Portugal, in 2012, where he also completed a postgraduate program in Endodontics in the same year. He later pursued advanced education in aesthetic and minimally invasive dentistry, obtaining the MAS in Microinvasive Aesthetic Dentistry from the University of Geneva, Switzerland. He is co founder of Lōsane Dental Studio and works in private practice in Portugal, Spain, and Switzerland, collaborating in Porto with Dr. Nuno Sousa Dias, in Madrid with Dr. Juan Arias, and practicing in Lausanne, Switzerland. His clinical interests focus on aesthetic dentistry, direct and indirect adhesive restorations, minimally invasive treatment concepts, composite resin sculpting, and the integration of digital technologies and 3D printing into restorative workflows. He is also author and co author of several publications in the field of restorative and aesthetic dentistry, including articles on micro invasive approaches, adhesive posterior restorations, and the CARES concept for the clinical management of complex restorative cases.
