The procedure
The process of joining the EAED is structured in multiple phases, designed to demonstrate
the applicant's strong commitment to both dentistry and the community.

To become an affiliate and later a member of the Academy, it is necessary to have attended at least two Spring Meetings within a four-year period. For more information on the process, please visit the following two pages.

The first step is to attend two Spring Meetings. After the second meeting, one can request to become an EAED Affiliate. After attending two other meetings as Affiliate, one can be invited by three EAED Sponsors to start the process for Active Membership.

Obtaining affiliate status is the first step toward becoming part of the Academy
and participating in its events and initiatives.

Membership is a distinguished honor that is bestowed to professionals who have significantly advanced human esthetics through education, research, literature, or clinical practice.

Academy Members may be classified as Active, Life, or Honorary. Those in the process of applying for membership are designated as EAED Affiliates.To become an Affiliate, one must have attended at least two Spring Meetings and be sponsored by at least three Life or Honorary Members. To attain Active Membership, candidates must obtain unanimous approval from their sponsors, deliver a short professionally oriented presentation, and be elected by the General Assembly. Individuals who have made significant scientific contributions to the Academy and its events may be eligible for a more direct membership application process. For more information, please refer to Appendix 1 of the Bylaws.

Speakers who have been invited at least twice to an EAED Spring or Autumn meeting can apply through their sponsors to become an Active Member. They will not be screened by the Membership Committee, but they will have to attend two additional meetings (either before or after the meeting in which he/she has given the lecture) in order to apply for Active Membership. As defined in Appendix 2 of the EAED Bylaws

Any person who has contributed significantly to the achievement of the goals of this Academy may be elected an Honorary Member. Honorary Members have their (& their accompanying persons') Meeting Registration & Social Fee covered by the EAED. Subsidies on travel and lodging are, however, not granted.
